Cat Pictures
If you like to look through purebred cat pictures, you’ve probably seen a picture of the Australian Mist. It’s a relatively new cat breed developed in Australia in the late 20th century. Actually, this breed is a mixture of the Burmese and Abyssinian with a local domestic shorthair cat. The domestic shorthair genes provide for the health, longevity and friendliness of the breed; adding the Burmese and Abyssinian provides for the exotic coat colors and patterns in the new breed.
Australian Mist cat pictures feature middle-sized, well-balanced and rounded animals. This breed is characterized by a misted spotted or marbled coat. The typical coat colors in the Australian Mist are brown, blue, lilac, chocolate, caramel, gold and peach. The legs and tail of these cats are barred; the face and neck have misted lines. The eyes of the Australian Mist occur in all shades of green.
Cat pictures can give you a basic idea of the breed, but when purchasing a cat you have to visit the breeder and see the whole litter and its parents. The first impression is very important when choosing a family pet or a show animal. It’s important to see the living conditions and the attitude of the breeder to all cats, as much in the temperament and personality of your future pet depends on the breeder. Australian Mist cats are naturally playful and tolerant, but if they don’t get much love in the early age, they cannot develop their best qualities.
This breed can be kept both indoors and outdoors, if you have a secure yard. Like all cats, Australian Mists like to walk on their own, but prefer to spend the night indoors. City dwellers can keep these cats indoors and take them for a walk on a lead. Australian Mists make good pets for people of all ages and lifestyles. They thrive on human contact and like to lie in somebody’s lap. Australian Mist cats are easy to show, as they enjoy being looked at. Visiting cat shows and seeing the reports with pictures can turn a person into a fancier of this wonderful breed, though cat pictures cannot reveal the wonderful personality of this breed.
